More About Jesus (19)

The Bible says by Jesus came “grace and truth” (John 1:17). This mark is an obvious superiority of the gospel to the Law of Moses. Both came from God, but the Law could not justify - it “worked wrath” (Romans 4:15). The Law’s inferiority is implied by Galatians 3:24, when it says the Law “was our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ.

The strength of grace and truth through Jesus is supported by the fact that Jesus is the only one who lived on earth who has been with Him. Therefore, Jesus is the revealer of the Father unto us of His grace and truth. He is “the brightness of the Father’s glory, the express image of His person” (Hebrews 1:3). To have seen Him is to have seen God (John 14:9). It is our duty to obey the truth, God’s grace revealed to us in His Son.
