More About Jesus (12)

Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
Revelation 3:20

Jesus will force Himself on no one. He will beckon, plead, beg, call, knock, and invite. It is our decision to answer. How we respond will not be something Jesus has not experienced or heard before.

He has been kissed on the feet. Others have mocked His name. He has been invited to someone’s house. Others shut the doors of their hearts. Regardless of the response, Jesus continues to knock because every person needs what He has to give.

Jesus knocks at the doors of our minds with evidence of His claims as God’s Son. He knocks at our emotions to awaken our gratitude from all that has been done for our souls. He does so by stirring our fears of hell and our hopes for heaven.

Jesus knocks at the door of our thinking by calling for change and renewal to what we ought to be.

Every man will have to answer the question, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Will you answer, and how will you respond to the knock of the Savior?
