What Is The Gospel Of Christ?

  • It is the power of God to save the souls of men (Romans 1:16).
  • It is facts to be believed (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
  • It is commands to be obeyed (Romans 10:16; 1 John 3:23).
  • It is promises to be enjoyed (Acts 2:38-40).
  • It is law by which we will be judged (John 12:48).
  • It is perfect (2 Timothy 3:!6,17; James 1:25).
  • It is everlasting (Matthew 24:35).

Considering these things, what is your relationship to the gospel? Do you believe it is necessary or non-essential? The gospel is not a selected passage to fill up space on paper. It is a calling from God that provides both salvation and hope. Why? We cannot devise a plan so excellent to save ourselves or provide us with life forever (Proverbs 3:1-6; Jeremiah 10:23). Without obeying this gospel, peace and joy will never fill the mind and soul. What can persuade us more to obey the gospel than love and a blood-stained cross? Learn from the gospel’s facts. Hear its plea. Understand from it what you need to do. Live by its perpetual truths and values. No other message written by man will match it.
