More About Jesus

Our salvation is a conversion by Jesus Christ. It is a conversion which involves the removal of the past. Getting rid of the past is such a joy and relief. It means starting over. Everything is fresh. It is like spring. Everything is green again.

When we are born again, the Holy Spirit begins to work in us to make us a new creation. It is a process in which there is nothing remaining of the old life. Our old gloomy outlook disappears, as does our old attitude toward things, and “all things are of God” (2 Corinthians 5:18).

How are we going to get a life that has no lust, no self-interest, and is not sensitive to the ridicule of others? How will we have the type of love that “is kind...is not provoked...thinks no evil” (1 Corinthians 13:4,5)? The only way is by allowing nothing of the old life to remain, and by having a simple, perfect trust in God and His will.

Once we truly see God at work in us through His Spirit-revealed word, we will never be concerned again about the things of the old man, because we are actually trusting in our Father in heaven, whom the world cannot see.

However, the richest experience of newness the most faithful Christian can have right now will pale in comparison to the newness that will be ours in heaven. There is a big difference in living as a Christian compared to an old life of lust, travail, anxiety, and disappointment. Just wait ‘til you see the difference between what you have right now and what you will have with God in eternity. All things will be new in heaven, but it will STAY new! Forever will not cause anything to age in heaven. When you consider the nature of God, nothing will get old. Because of God’s faithfulness, it will be “new” every morning (Lamentations 3:23).
