What Is The Cost Of War?

Would you like to guess the cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? Billions! In lives, it is a cost that cannot be replaced.

Consider the battle in Ephesians 6:12. This battle goes on every day (Galatians 5:16,17). Satan has convinced some there is not a war (battle) going on. He has been so good at getting others to give up the fight by convincing them, “You cannot win!”

There are times when this battle has some intense moments when false teaching arises, new clothes style comes around, money makes more sense than worship, or another woman/man understands me more than the person whom I married.

What we need to readily admit is we cannot win on our own strength. A great picture of this is in Isaiah 59, where the chapter introduces man’s sin, which separates him from God. They admit they cannot recover themselves (vv. 9-15), and “no man” can intercede (v. 16). God takes “his own arm” and puts on the “breastplate of righteousness” and all the other pieces of the armor to deliver man.

We need to be on God’s side during the spiritual war we encounter. We do not want to be another “war casualty”. This battle has been, is, and will be a costly war. Do not go into battle on your own and without the proper amount of PROTECTION. Put on God’s armor. With it you will obtain a victory.
