The WORD Is YOUR Wisdom

Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, that ye should do so

in the midst of the land whither ye go into possess it.

Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom

and your understanding in the sight of the peoples,

that shall hear all these statutes, and say,

Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Deuteronomy 4:5,6

If you would want to be known for one thing, what would it be? Would it be an area of wisdom or a matter of academics, skill, or business? If you are diligently seeking God, the area of carefully observing the law of God would be the wisdom to which you should highly aspire.

Moses told Israel their greatest aspiration should be the law of God. This was the sign they and other “peoples” would know “this great nation is a wise and understanding people”. God’s law is the highest and most noble standard. There is no wisdom greater than the will of God. Sad it is to see so many push aside, dismiss, and abuse God’s wisdom as “foolishness” (1 Corinthians 1:18-25). “Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” (1 Corinthians 1:20). What joy man gets out of his pride and achievement falls far short of what God’s word can bring to him.

There is nothing greater to be known for than to have a reputation of serving in ways parallel with the word of God. The greatest usefulness with which we offer mankind is to walk according to God’s purpose. Why would we accept and apply anything less? There is no reason to consider any less endeavor in life than to know, understand, and walk in the wisdom of God (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Do so now in order to avoid the pain, misery, and judgment so many others have to face because they follow the idea, “No one’s going to tell me what to do!"
