Get Out From Behind The Bushes

Bushes provide great cover, especially when playing hide-and-seek. Covering up is not what Jesus asks the Christian to do. We are to not to hide or conceal our life. He exhorts us with these words: “No man, when he hath lighted a lamp, putteth it in a cellar, neither under the bushel, but on the stand, that they which enter in may see the light” (Luke 11:33). “Ye are the light of the world…so let your light shine” (Matthew 5:14,16). God wants His glory to be illustrated in us.

As there are several types of bushes one can plant around his house, so it is that our light can be hidden by different kinds of bushes, namely…

  • Disobedience (Romans 2:6-10)

  • Negligence (Hebrews 2:1-3Revelation 3:15,16)

  • Ignorance (Ephesians 4:17-19)

  • Pride (Proverbs 16:18,19)

  • Self-Indulgence (Galatians 5:16-21)

  • Periodical Christianity (Luke 9:231 Corinthians 15:58)

  • Selfishness (Matthew 25:41-46)

The Christian’s life may be the only “Bible” some will ever read. Do not resist being separate. Accept it. Live it. Make a difference in the life of another by revealing, not concealing, the good works of God. Get out from behind the bushes!
