GOD

God is and has the answer. It is a simple solution, and that may make it hard to accept. We usually look for sophistication in handling our problems. We think only a person with a great education, degree, theological background, and experience can help us. Listen to Psalm 42:1,2: “As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”  Give some careful thought to that! The only task we have as Christians is to love God above all (Matthew 22:37). However, where is our passion for God?

Do we believe He is near/ Near to us? In control? Able to provide? Able to help? Do we believe Jesus is “the same yesterday, today, yea, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)? He told the apostles, “And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20).

Beloved, that same statement remains true for us today. God and Jesus are present. They are there because of their love (1 John 4:12). They are both there whatever we may think about it or feel about it. It is their presence we should give more attention to than possibly the second coming. Without realizing God’s presence now, we will never be prepared for the “coming of the Son of man”.

If we are more aware of God’s presence, our sorrow would turn to joy, our weakness into strength, and our night into day. Greater awareness of God’s presence would cure worry, bring peace to our heart, hope for hopeless circumstances, and restore our sense of mission and purpose here. May we all respond toward God as David: “My soul followeth hard after thee…” (Psalm 43:8).
