Keeping Your Faith Alive (12)

 

Worry, worry, worry. Is that all you do is worry? Stop to consider how much of your faith you lose from worry. Has your worry made the day better? Have you been abounding in the work of the Lord from your worry?

Jesus concluded His discussion about worry with these words: “Be not anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6:34). What a wonderful solution to such a debilitating heart disease! Removing such stress adds more movement to our faith in Christ Jesus. Our trust in God changes the things we believe are so “big” into small pieces…

Placing tomorrow and circumstances you cannot change into the hands of God keeps worry from robbing you of today. But it is so hard to let go of uncertain, anxious moments. People have such a stressful grip on it. They believe they are the only ones who can handle it, change it, or remove it. Consider this: Can you take away tomorrow? Add a few hours to the day? Stop the sun from shining? Keep the cold away? If you understand with conviction God controls the “big” things, surely you know He can control the “little” things as well...
