To Whom Shall We Go?

The above statement was the concluding sentence in last week’s article. At whatever point you are in life, in whom do you search and where do you look for direction in your choices? What is the foundation of your decision making?

There are only certain things upon which a financial expert, doctor, or lawyer can advise you.  No one has the answer to every matter, every problem, or every crisis. The Lord Jesus Christ said of Himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). We are sure you have heard that statement many times, but where in your life have you acted upon that truth.

There are many people who verbalize a faith in the words of Jesus because they are true and eternal (John 6:68). But where in your life from your religious beliefs to your work to raising your children to conversations on Facebook are your choices based upon Jesus and His Word?  If you have expressed to others how you have laid the foundation of your life upon the Word of the Lord, are the results consistent with choices you have made? Honesty demands we personally evaluate where we are going for spiritual guidance (2 Corinthians 13:5).

What amazes me about people is how they expect to be like Paul, Noah, Abraham, or Sarah, yet live like Ahab, Jezebel, or Judas? If we say we are going to the Lord in everything, then the Lord will bless those who truly come unto Him and learn of Him (Matthew 11:28-30).
