Gospel Meeting
We just completed, yet another, edifying Gospel Meeting at Southside. If you were unable to attend in person or would like to hear one of Bro. Mike Pittman’s lessons again, please go to media/sermons and then to All Gospel Meetings for another opportunity.
New Deacons Installed, One Retires
Don Hunter, a long-time member and deacon at Southside has retired in recent months. Don and his wife Pat have both been long-time members of Southside always helpful in the work of the congregation. Don retired from his duties as a deacon due to health issues, but is able to continue to attend services on a regular basis. The elders recognized Don for his long and faithful service to the congregation. Two new deacons were also recently installed Barrett Harris and Michael Ray. Both men have already accepted specific responsibilities to serve the congregation. The new deacons were selected to help with the work of the church by the elders and then submitted to the congregation for consideration of their qualifications to serve. The new deacons were appointed because of the growing needs of the congregation due to a growing membership.
Bains Mark One Year At Southside
Beginning January 1, 2012, Shawn and Diane Bain will celebrate their one-year anniversary at Southside. The congregation is very excited about the work that the couple has been involved in since they began the Lord's work with us here. We have had a number of baptisms during that period of time as well as those that have recommitted their lives to God.
